Hot Hatch, Hot TVC

Following last year’s successful launch of the latest Suzuki Swift, we have just launched the turbo-charged Swift Sport with a striking commercial which was created using 100% CGI technology.

The TVC is based in a metal foundry and features a Swift Sport being created entirely out of molten metal, emphasizing the car’s Hot Hatch credentials.

“With its outstanding performance, sporty DNA and bold, muscular design the Swift Sport is a true hot hatch, and we wanted to convey this in the TVC.’ said Creative Director Matt Burgess. “…everything about this car is hot, so the creative had to be too”

CGI gave us unlimited creative possibilities and was the obvious way to go once we had developed the concept of the metal foundry. It also had the advantage of being extremely cost efficient compared to creating a similar concept using live action.

Suzuki Dealer Principals and senior Suzuki executives from Japan were given a preview of the TVC at the National Dealer Launch in Melbourne and were extremely complimentary of the results. “The new commercial has captured the essence of the Swift Sport and will definitely stand out in the clutter of other car ads” one Dealer remarked.

The ad was developed in conjunction with local motion graphics company Jumbla, who had to create the car from scratch without the assistance of CAD drawings.

The launch campaign will target young professionals, and will feature on free to air TV including a Big Bash Sponsorship as well as national press, a heavyweight digital campaign and extensive Dealer POS material.

There is also strong interest from Suzuki distributors overseas to run the campaign in their markets.
